H/L THE ROLE OF A PRODUCTION 

What does the role of production designer entail ?

Is too understand how the director reads the script how he wants his vision designed and envision where and how the director wants to go through set design, it could be be a practical location or a set made from scratch and being in a theatre with a group of actors and role in the theatre and being able to work with them to produce a set and picture everyone’s imagined 

During a production, what other members does the production designer co-ordinate with ? 

Lead man that helps the production designer , set dressers that get the actors into there visioned outfits  a buyer a person that maintains budget  and a coordinator to help the whole process and make sure the team is working together 

What issue can occur for a production designer ?

It’s a very fast pace job through pre production so time management can be an issue as it’s fast pace version of interior decorating and the management of your team and filed 

What skills , education , experience and training are beneficial for a production designer to have ?

A theatre design degree can be useful in getting into this job the use of being able to capture a picture with word and being able to be imaginative and work with a large group of people creating ideas and putting them to life through the use of production designing and being able to work in a theatre and multi tasking and gaining as much experience in film making
